Welcome to the TX/LA District's Mission's Website:

Over ten years ago, one of our churches in the Texas and Louisiana District of The Wesleyan Church, went out on a mission's trip to the Peruvian Amazon.  Since that inaugural trip, many more from our district have followed.  We have also seen more than a hundred people from our sixteen churches, step out beyond their range of comfortability and experience what is the joy and challenge of a short-term mission's trip.

If you have landed on this website, we intend for this site to provide you with information about:

Peru Trips for 2010

The TX/LA district is tentatively planning 2 trips to the Amazon Jungle for the year 2010.  The first trip will be from July 8th to July 18th.  This trip will be to do some repairs on the church in Iquitos which is in desperate need of repair.  We will probably take a trip to one of the villages for one night and do evangelism in Iquitos the other evenings but the main focus of this trip will be the repair of the Iquitos Church.   THIS TRIP IS FULL AND WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.  THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR PARTICIPATION

The second trip will be from August 27th to September 6th.  This trip will be to place a cement floor in the church in Tamshiyacu and build a small parsonage and well behind the church for the new pastor.   We will be doing evangelism in Tamshiyacu and if possible, installing the new pastor for that town.

These are both great opportunities to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ with our Peruvian brothers and sisters.  The cost of the trips will be around $1800 depending on the cost of airline tickets.  Please sign up soon for these trips.
