Jarvis grew up in a pastor's home in Ohio. While attending Indiana Wesleyan University, where he earned a B.S. in political science and religion/philosophy, he sensed God leading him into missions through a short-term mission trip to the Amazon area of Manaus, Brazil. Jarvis later earned a M.Div. from Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi.
Sue grew up in Jackson, Michigan. Her early interest in nursing and missions led her to earn a B.S. in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. They ministered in Ohio prior to leaving for South America in 1988.
Jarvis trains pastors and leaders in the areas of leadership, stewardship, and reaching their God-given potential. Sue uses her nursing skills in compassion ministries and complements women's ministries through targeted training of women leaders.
Since 2003 their ministry has included the countries of Chile and Argentina, with Jarvis serving as the Southern Cone Regional Director. They desire to see a strong Latin American Church and leaders that transform the nations of the world with Christ's love. Beginning in June 2008, Jarvis serves as Global Partners’ Area Director for Ibero-America (formerly Latin America), giving oversight and support to ministries of the Wesleyan Church in 19 countries.
Jarvis and Sue have two children: Joel ('84) and Meghan ('87), who are currently studying in Indiana Wesleyan University for possible future missionary service.
